SUBTOPIC: SEASONS
SEASONS
• There are four seasons that happen all year long.
• These four seasons only happen to countries that are
not on the Equator.
• Malaysia is one of the countries that are on the
Equator, that means Malaysia is one of the other
countries that DO NOT have four Seasons.
• The Four Seasons are:
SPRING
• Spring starts from March to June, in the countries north to
the equator.
• The weather becomes warmer during spring.
• Leaves and Plants starts to grow.
• Flowers start appearing.
• Bulbs starts growing.
• Animals give birth.
• It’s a season of renewal.
• Some animals wake up from their long sleep. This long
sleep is called HIBERNATION.
• Animals that hibernate are bears, bats, groundhogs,
skunks.
• Spring colours are bright lemon, lime green, bright blue
and lilac.
FUN FACT!
• HIBERNATION is a deep sleep that helps animals
to save energy and survive the winter without eating much.
During hibernation the animal's body temperature drops,
and its heartbeat and its breathing slow down so that it
does not use much energy.
• Easter is also being celebrated in spring!
SUMMER
• Summer starts on the longest day of the month.
• In the north, it begins on the 21st of June.
• Summer is usually the warmest and sunniest part of the
year.
• Fruits grows on tree and plants
• Animals grow bigger and stronger.
• Summer is hot and it is when kids are usually out of school
and take vacations to the beaches.
• Crops are harvested at the
end of summer.
• The days are longer and the

green, yellow and orange. during the

AUTUMN
• The season of fall is also called Autumn.
• The weather become cool again.
• The wind is always blowing.
• The leaves turn yellow, red, brown and then they would fall from the
tree.
• Fruits ripen and it is time to harvest.
• Animals would gather and keep food in their homes for the cold
season that is about to come.
• Autumn colours are red, orange, brown, faded yellow and dark green.
FUN FACTS!

• Autumn is when people would celebrate Halloween and


Thanksgiving.
• Thanksgiving dinner is celebrated because people are
grateful with the harvest that they got
WINTER
• Winter begins on the shortest day of the year.
• In the Northern Hemisphere, it begins on the 21st of December.
• The weather gets colder and in some places it starts to snow.
• Plants and trees stop growing.
• Many animals hibernate.
• There are long nights and short days.
• Children need to wear warm, woollen clothes.
• Winter colours are white, royal blue and rich purple.
COLOURS AND EMOTION
• Sometimes we use colours to describes emotions.
• Blue means that we are sad or down.
• Browned off means we are annoyed, dissatisfied or irritated.
• Green with envy means we are jealous.
• Tickled pink means we are amused.
• Red in the face means we are embarrassed or ashamed.
• White as sheet or white as a ghost means that we are
frightened.
