WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PARAMETERS AND

POPULATION SAMPLE?
How many different samples of size n = 3 can be selected
from a population with the following sizes?
NOTE: The number of samples of size n that can be drawn from a population of
size N is given by
1.N = 4 4
2.N = 8 56
3.N = 20 1140
4.N = 50 19600
Given the steps in Constructing the Sampling Distribution of the
Means.
1. Determine the number of possible samples that can be drawn from the
population using the formula:
where N = size of the population
n = size of the sample
2. List all the possible samples and compute the mean of each sample.
3. Construct a frequency distribution of the sample means obtained in
Step
2.
Follow the steps in Construct the Sampling Distribution of Sample Means in the
population consists of the numbers 2, 4, 9, 10 and 5. Consider sample size of 3 that can
be drawn from this population.
STEP 1. Determine the possible samples using the formula 10
STEP 2. List all the possible samples and the corresponding mean.
