HOTELS REFUGES WILD

REFUGIES

There are 7 refuges (+1 off-trail) on the GR221 route, most of which must be booked at least a few days in advance.
However, some still have vacancies. Some have shelters with drinking water taps, where you can spend the night for
free and refill your water. Refugia come in handy in the rain and for showering. Otherwise, it is better to sleep
outside.
WILD

There are many places to sleep, such as various shelters, freely accessible brick buildings, ruins, rock overhangs, etc.
For sleeping, it is one of the friendliest GRs in Europe, despite the fact that sleeping rough is prohibited in Mallorca.
Just always clean up after yourself and take away what you brought.

Mobile Phones

There is no mobile signal in many places along the

GR221 route. There, I recommend switching your
phone to Airplane mode.
People

The locals are very friendly, smiling, positive, willing like all Spaniards,
happy to help at any time, at least with good advice.
Siesta

Shops are often closed in towns and cities between 1pm and
4pm. They don't even open on Sundays to be sure. They open
late in the morning, around nine o'clock.
