OBJECTIVES/TARGETS

1. Institutionalize the implementation of a comprehensive


special education program in accordance with Republic
Act 11650 – An Act Instituting a Policy of Inclusion and
Services for Learners with Disabilities in Support of
Inclusive Education.
STRATEGIES/ACTIVITIES
• Conduct advocacy campaign thru Bandilyo system, Social Media Info.
Dissemination, posting of Tarpaulin, and house to house visitation on
special education program.
 
• Attend BDC meeting and or Barangay Official session meeting.

• Network with local health workers to get information on family mapping


survey

OBJECTIVES/TARGETS
2. Perform screening and informal assessments/tests to learners enrolled in
school for:
a. identification and categorization of exceptionalities
b. pre-referral intervention to medical and clinical specialists
c. Individual Education Plan (IEP)
d. Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
e. Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)
f. Specialized instructional and learning materials
g. Appropriate Assistive Technology Devices
h. Appropriate Adaptive Devices
i. Appropriate Instructional Models
STRATEGIES/ACTIVITIES
Conduct of screening and informal assessment/tests based on the following conditions:
A. Leaners with Learning Disabilities
• Norm-Referenced Tests or known as School Based Achievement Test
• Informal Reading Inventories
• BRIGANCE Diagnostic Inventory of Basic Skills
• Direct Daily Measurement
B. Learners with Hearing Impairment
• Informal Hearing Tests – whisper test, ball pen click test, conversational live voice test
• Audiological Evaluation- nomination to Audiologist/ Otologist
• Cognitive, Communication Abilities, Social and Behavioral Assessments
C. Learners with Intellectual Disability
• Intellectual and Adaptive Assessment
• Neurological, laboratory Examination and Psychological Assessment- nominated to Psychiatrist

EXPECTED OUTPUT

Results of the assessments will be used to develop learner’s


IEPs, design intervention plans, evaluate instruction,
monitor learners’ progress, nominate for referral services to
medical and clinical specialists and come up with the
concrete and feasible budgetary requirements needed for the
effective and efficient implementation of Special Education.

3. Intensify parents’ awareness and knowledge about special


education program to establish strong collaboration and
appropriate support to learner with special needs as
stipulated in DO 72 s. 2009

• Conduct of Family- Capacity Building Activity to


engage parents and other family members in practicing
appropriate interventions to promote learning and
development in ways that strengthen confidence and
competence among learners.
• Developmental and Behavioral Mentoring and Coaching

4. Participate in the Disability-related celebration to foster


equality of rights and opportunities for persons with
special needs in coordination with the National Council
on Disability Affairs and Department of Social Welfare
and Development

Join with the DSWD initiated activities on Disability related celebration
especially the following:
• Autism Consciousness Week
• National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month
• Retarded Children’s Week
• National Mental Week
• Deaf Awareness Week
• National Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) Awareness Week
• International Day of Persons with Disabilities in the Philippines
• White Cane
