1.Catalog Management

• SAP Ariba Catalog solution is the comprehensive Content


management solution from SAP which is tightly integrated
with SAP Ariba Buying solutions.

• Contracted items also will be available for Ooredoo users to


buy.

• Ariba Catalog solution will help Ooredoo users to quickly


find what they need with the help of its powerful search
functionality .The user can search the item by descriptions,
pricing, part numbers. Etc.

• There are different types of catalogs namely


• Internal Catalog
• Puchout Catalog (Supplier Managed).

Business case for Catalogs – Why?

• Ease of use(Human friendly)


• Leverage Strategic supplier relationships – display the suppliers that are preferred
• Leverage Negotiated content –show items that you want Users to buy
• Self –service purchasing – don’t have to call Purchasing
• Compliance – Consolidating purchases to preferred suppliers not only saves money but increases negotiating
power

What to Catalog? –Considerations

Some considerations where to leverage catalogs:

• How many transactions do we do with supplier annually? Greater than 50?


• Do the suppliers already provide a catalog on Ariba Network?
• Do the contracted items have a “part number-to-price” relationship?

Catalog types
Static Catalogs (Internal Catalog) –

Simple text file created and maintained by supplier


Supporting catalog formats – CIF, cXML etc.

Static catalogs work well if:


Static catalogs
• Static flat files, maintained and uploaded by suppliers to • Supplier is new to Ariba Network and/or to catalog
Ariba Network, or created and managed by the Buying management
organization. • Supplier is unable to host their own ordering
• Part Number

• Catalog is small to medium size
• Description
• Catalog content is more static, with minimal updates

• Commodity Code, etc.
• Need for tight control and auditing

Allows users to access catalog content residing at a supplier’s interactive e-commerce website

Supplier controls and maintains content on their site

Content is specific to customer

PunchOut catalogs work well if:

• Catalog requires frequent updates


• Catalog is very large
• Additional value-added features are available (real time availability etc..)
• Supplier already has a PunchOut website

Supplier hosted catalogs ->

Step1 : Establish relationship with supplier via Ariba Network.


Step2:Once approved ,download supplier Catalog content
Step3: Approve the Catalog & Publish for use.

Internal Catalogs ->


Step1: Obtain price list from Suppliers
Step2: Create a catalog in excel
Step3: Upload the Catalog
Step4: Approve and Publish for use.

Puchout Catalog ->


Step1:Identify supplier for punchout
Step2: Configure the punchout catalog
Step3: Test and Publish for use.
