habits
DEFINITIONS
• Nutrition: a healthy and balanced diet.
• Nutrition education: is a set of learning experiences designed to assist in healthy e
choices and other nutrition-related behavior.

• they can generally be classified into the following 7 major groups:
• Carbohydrates.
• Proteins.
• Fats.
• Vitamins.
• Minerals.
• Dietary fibre.
• Water.
Importance of nutrition education
• Nutrition education provides people with correct
information on the nutritional value of foods, food
quality and safety, methods of preservation,
processing and handling, food preparation and
eating to help them make the best choice of foods
for an adequate diet.
• Quality nutrition education can contribute to
people maintaining a healthy weight and lowering
their chances of developing weight-related chronic
diseases.
Activities for nutrition education
• nutrition education activities include:
presentations, cooking classes, food preparation
demonstrations, field trips, plays, panel discussions,
planning and/or evaluating menus, food tasting
sessions, question and answer sessions, gardening,
physical fitness programs, videos, etc.
Recommendation
Government has to put effort to improve nutrition
education, by schools that teach about nutrition.

CONCLUSION
Nutrition is an agent of health that helps us in
survival and health depends on food in many ways
but we should study about nutrition inorder to know
what is important.
