Introduction:-

 Government plays a very important role in developing


entrepreneurship.
 Government develops industries in rural and backward
areas by giving various facilities with the objective of
balances regional development.
 The Government set programs to help entrepreneurs in
the field of technique ,finance, market & entrepreneurial
development so that they help to accelerate and adopt
the changes in industrial development.
Institutions set up by central Govt.
to promote entrepreneurship
1- SMALL INDUSTRIES DEVELOPMENT
ORGANIZATION (SIDO):-
• It was established in 1954 to promote MSME industries in
the country .
• It formulates policies for the development of small scale
industries in the country.
• It provides support for promotion of rural entrepreneurship
and designed EDPs to identify persons with
entrepreneurial abilities.
2-MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT
INSTITUTE (MDI):-
 It was established in 1973 .It
conducts management
development programs to
improve managerial
effectiveness in the industry.
3-ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT
INSTITUTE OF INDIA(EDI):-
 It was established in 1983 with the active collaboration of
Govt.
Of Gujurat ,IDBI bank ,IFCI limited ,ICICI bank and SBI.
 It’s mission is to become a catalyst in facilitating emergence
of competent 1st generation entrepreneurs and transition of
existing SMEs into growth –oriented enterprises through
entrepreneurship education ,training ,research & institution
building.
4- SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES (SSI):-
 It was established in 1999.
 It advises the Government on all issues related to the
small-scale sector.
 It determines the programs and policies for the
development of small –scale industries.
5-NATIONAL SMALL
INDUSTRIES CORPORATION
(NSIC):-
 It was established in 1955 by Govt. of India.
 NSIC facilitates micro, small & medium enterprises to enhance their
competitiveness.
 NSIC provides integrated support services under
marketing ,technology & finance.
6-INDIAN INVESTMENT CENTRE
(IIC):-
 It was set up in 1960 by Govt. of India.
 IIC provides information and guidance on the Indian Govt.
investment procedures ,policies ,incentives ,infrastructure
facilities and investment opportunities.
 The main objective behind the setting up of IIC was to
encourage foreign private investment in the country.

• It is promoting balanced
regional
development ,increased
investment ,more employment
generation and broad industry
ownership.
3- DISTRICT
INDUSTRIES
CENTRES
(DIC):-
• It was set up in 1978.
• It is promoting small village and
cottage industries in a particular
area .
• It is a premier organization that
engaged in training ,consultancy
& research in order to promote
entrepreneurship and skill
development .

skill development &

manufacturing
2- START UP
INDIA INTIATIVE:-
• This scheme was also
started by our
honourable PM of
India on 15th Aug ,2015.
• This flagship initiative
aims to build a strong
ecosystem for
nurturing innovation &
start ups in the country
that will drive
sustainable economic
growth and generate
large scale employment
opportunities.
CONCLUSION :-
 Entrepreneurship can be viewed as recognizing
change ,pursuing opportunity ,taking on risk and
responsibility, innovating ,making better use of
resources ,creating new value that is meaningful to
customers and doing it all over again and again .
