How did the Stuarts have fun?

The Big Picture

At the beginning of the Stuart period not much had
changed from Tudor times in how people had fun

One of the most popular things to do was go to the

theatre and the most popular plays were by William
Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe

Previously you have examined how Medieval people

entertained themselves, today to you going to
examine Stuart entertainment
Task
• EITHER use the rollercoaster on Slide 3 or draw version of it yourself
• You are to plot the activity/form of entertainment onto the rollercoster.
• If you think the activity is exciting or would have a lot of interest plot it at
an exciting part of the roller coaster tracker, maybe the drop or the incline
of the hill. Draw a rollercoaster cart to symbolise the activity
• If you think the activity is a little dull or not many people would be
interested in it, plot in on a straight piece of the roller coaster track, where
nothing happens
• Explain your decisions on your roller coaster track
