CONTEMPT OF COURTS
 It is the offence in law of being disobedient to or
disrespectful towards a court of law and its officer in the form
of behavior that opposes or defines the authority , justice and
dignity of the court
 TYPES OF CONTEMPT
 There are 2 types
 Civil contempt – civil contempt means willful disobedience to
any judgment , decree , direction , order , writ or other
process of the court or willful breach of an undertaking given
to the court
 Criminal contempt – criminal contempt means the publication
(whether by words , spoken or written or by signs or by visible
representation or otherwise )of any matter or doing of any
other act whatsoever which ; scandalizes prejudice or
interfere the administration of justice in any other manner

mishra who was a president of bar associations of Allahabad
high court , Chairman of bar council of india and a senior
advocate
 As advocate V.C mishra appeared justice keshote and justice
ayushman singh (senior) in the case bansal forging ltd v U.P
financial corporation


 The learned trial court passed an order that the corporation

shall pay the amount in installment and it will furnish

letter to acting chief justice of
Allahabad high court
 About the incident that
happened in his court
 He even stated that V.C Mishra
stated to shout and threatened
me by saying “he has turned
many judges” and created a
scence in the court
 As contemnor was also president
of bar associations of Allahabad
H.C ,chairman of BCI and senior
advocate
 Later this matter was referred to
acting chief justice of india
