• Dark matter is refered to the hypothetical matter that scientists have not been
able to either through telescopes or technological methods.
• Scientists have been unable to directly observe dark matter since they do not
emit light or energy
• The universe is made up of baryonic matter.
• This consist of electrons, protons and neutrons.
• Dark matter on the other hand , could be made of both baryonic and non
baryonic matter.
• Despite many speculations regarding the existance of dark matter, no one can
clearly define what dark matter is made of.

• Dark matter is the mysterious thing. Non interacting substance in the universe
its gravitational effects are necessary to explain the rotation of galaxies, the
motions of clusters, and the largest scale-structures from the universe.
• Dark matter played an important role in the formation of galaxies.
• Researchers use astronomical surveys to build maps of the location of dark
matter in the universe based on how the light from distant galaxies bends as it
travels to us.

dark matter takes when the term was first proposed back in 1933 by the swiz
American astronomer Fritz Zwicky it was possible that the extra mass was
simply clouds of hydrogen gas
