6 Installation

Preparation

LicenseClient
At the iEMS Installer Package>SupportFiles
Run the program “LicenseClient” as Administrator

Select the tab “Computer Characteristic


Information” then click “Read”

LicenseClient

A code will be generated based from the server’s


hardware configuration.

Click “Save”

A copy of the code will be saved in .txt format.


Send the .txt file to a CET Representative who will
then process the license application.

The user will receive a serial number and


password via email

On the LicenseClient>File License Tab:

Input details received from email (Serial Number


and Password).

Input also the generated CCI code used for the


license application

Click “Download”

The user will receive an swlic text file which
contains the following information:
- Serial Number
- Password
- CCI

The user will also receive an swlic.dat file which


would be used as the main software license of the
server.

Dongle License
A usb dongle license will be provided to the user. It comes with a serial number and installation password.
Unlike the file license mode, the dongle allows the software to be installed on different computers (maximum of 4 different computers).
The software will only run on the last computer where it was installed.

Steps for the Dongle Authorization Mode:


• Insert the Dongle in one of the USB ports of the computer.
• Run PecStar iEMS Installation, select the Dongle Authorization Mode.
• PecStar iEMS will detect and install the Dongle Driver automatically.
• Input the Serial No. and Password of the Dongle.
• After the authorization, you can now install PecStar iEMS modules.
• Ensure the Dongle is connected to the USB port when running programs of Database Server, SCADA Server or Data Server.

Select “English” as the main installation

A welcome page will appear showing the


current software version

Accept the terms of the License Agreement

Verifying Environment:

The screen will show the requirements


before the software can be installed on the
server.

If some of the components are missing,


the software will install them.

Click Next after all the needed


components were installed

iEMS Installer:

The user will be given 3 options


to register the software’s license:

- Local License
- Online License
- Dongle License

iEMS Installer:

Local License – may be selected if the user already


have the swlic.dat file.

The user will have to input the Serial Number and


specify the location path of the swlic.dat file

Click Next

The program will confirm the given details and will


display the following information as confirmation:
License Mode,
Software Edition
Serial Number

Click Next

Dongle License – may be selected if the user has a


usb dongle as license

The user will have to input the Serial Number and


Installation Password of the dongle.

Click Next

The program will confirm the given details and will


display the following information as confirmation:

Installation counter’s remaining value

Setup Type:

Complete Installation – This option is


recommended for single server setup.
All components of the iEMS will be
installed on a single computer.

Custom Installation – best option


when the iEMS modules have to
be installed on different dedicated
servers/computers

Software Features:
Database – Create config database and data database. Create main and standby database for redundancy
application

System Configuration Module – allow users to configure the system network including stations, sites,
devices, data points, security authority, etc.

PecSCADA Module – Responsible for Realtime Communication and Data Acquisition

DServer Module – Responsible for the data transfer between different application modules and the
database. It also monitors the communication status of all computers in the network and their refresh time.

Client Workstation Module – Realtime Monitoring, Reporting, Trending, and Waveform Analysis

System Maintenance Module – perform backup, archive, restore, as well as automatic or manual
import/export operations on database
