GUIDELINES FOR
SPORTS
COMPETITIONS
A. Eligibility / Qualifications of an
Athlete
1. A PRISSA Student-athlete is one who is a Filipino
citizen and has played and represented in PRISAA
Member-school in PRISAA sponsored competitions.

2. He/she must be a bonafide college/high school


student of the school he/she represents and
officially enrolled in the regular semester or term of
the current academic year.
A. Eligibility / Qualifications of an
Athlete
 3. He/she must carry a minimum academic load of twelve (12)
units, excluding NSTP (3 units – ROTC, CWTS, LTS) in a regular
semester or term, must have passed at least sixty percent
(60%) of the total academic load enrolled in the first semester
or term of the current academic year and must be enrolled in
the second semester also, of the current academic year.
 4. A student enrolled in at least two (2) year
vocational/technical course and carrying the required regular
load of the course is qualified to participate in the PRISAA
Collegiate Games.
A. Eligibility / Qualifications of an
Athlete
 5. A graduating student by the end of the second
semester of the current academic year carrying an
academic load of less than twelve (12) units in the first
and second semester is eligible to participate in the
PRISAA Collegiate Games provided, a certificate from
the registrar that he/she is graduating is submitted for
verification purposes.
 6. A PRISAA Student-athlete can participate in PRISAA
Collegiate Games within a period of seven (7) years
from the time he/she graduated from high school.
A. Eligibility / Qualifications of an
Athlete
 7. A PRISAA transferee Student-athlete must satisfy the ONE
(1) year residency requirement which will be counted as
playing year.

 8. A PRISAA Student-athlete who is playing for or


representing a ball club in a commercial league may be
allowed to represent a school in PRISAA competitions
provided, the school and the commercial league are located
in the same region and all the other requirements on
eligibility are complied with.

 9. Nationally-ranked athletes in any sports/events including
Members of the National Teams, Training and Development
Pools under the Philippines Sports Commission, and those who
have represented the Philippines in any international
competition are disqualified to participate in any PRISAA
competitions.

 10. Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and


Philippine National Police (PNP) are also disqualified to
participate in any PRISAA competitions.

11. An Athlete may play in one (1) Team sport and
also in any individual sport.

Schedule of Competitions
The schedule of Annual PRISAA Collegiate Games shall
be as follows:
1. Provincial - Not later than December

Hosting of PRISAA Collegiate Games
1. The hosting of the Provincial and Regional Collegiate
Games shall be on rotation basis subject to the acceptance
of the host province and approval of the Regional Board.

rotation basis among the three (3) major islands of the
country namely, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, subject to
the acceptance of the host region and approval of the
National Board.
Credentials and Documents Required
The official entry forms together with the following documents shall be
submitted to the screening committee to determine the eligibility of athletes
at least four (4) weeks prior to the Provincial and Regional Collegiate Games
and at least six (6) weeks prior to the National collegiate Games.
1. Duly accomplished entry form (GALLERY OF ATHLETES) in four (4) original
copies and with the names of athletes arranged alphabetically by
sports/events.
2. Official Transcript of Records (TOR) with complete inscription of all subjects
enrolled for the course. (for high school form 137)
3. Original Birth certificate duly authenticated by NSO/PSO.
4. Medical Certificate duly signed by school physician.
5. Parents Waiver for athletes below 18/21 years of age.
6. Duly accomplished Coach Information sheet.
