INTRODUCTION
An electric car is an automobile that is
propelled by one or more electric motors
using electrical energy stored in batteries.

The major challenge is that people are

worried about how far they can travel in
electric car before their batteries peter
out.

Charging an electric car isn’t quite so

simple and charging stations are not
easily available hence the need of self
charging is mandatory.
PROBLEM DEFINITION
• The charge in the battery which gives the supply
for motor gets discharged and hence it should be
stopped or parked in the area where current can be
easily taken.
• When the car loses its full charge then you will
have to stop and recharge it again at the charging
station.
• Hence, dynamos are used to solve this problem.
• To supply power to other accessories like headlight
, A.C, power windows audio system, indicators .

COMPONENTS
A dynamo is a generator which produces electricity through fine wires that rotate within a
magnetic field. Magnets are placed around the spinning wires to generate and create that
magnetic field. The faster the wires are spinning, the more voltage is produced

Gears are used for transmitting power from one part of machine to another . The larger
gear is connected to the smaller gear so even if the wheel rotates at smaller rpm we will be
able to achieve more rpm. The larger gear will rotate slower than the smaller gear but will
have a greater moment

Automobile cables have the central function of transmitting electricity to power various
devices equipped on a vehicle. It is an electrical cable, an assembly of one or more
electrical conductors, usually held together with an overall sheath.

An electric vehicle battery is a battery used to power the electric motors. Theses batteries
are usually rechargeable batteries and are lithium ion batteries. Theseare designed for a
high ampere hour capacity. These use electricity stored in a battery pack to power an
electric motor and turn the wheels.

In electric vehicles, the converter is built inside the car. It converts power from AC to DC
and then feeds it into the car’s battery. It is the most common charging method for electric
vehicles today and use AC power.

DESIGN
CONCLUSION

• Space constraints make it difficult to set up charging stations at scale, Government is planning to
incentivise battery swapping policy
• Dynamos can be used efficiently for EV battery swapping i.e. substituting freshly charged batteries
for discharged ones.
