    Alexander the Great was born in 356 BC in Macedonia and died in 323 BC in Babylon. He was educated by Aristotle and became king of Macedonia after his father's death. As a brilliant military leader, Alexander conquered a vast empire across Europe, Asia, and Africa and spread Greek culture, becoming king of Macedonia, Greece, Egypt, and Persia by the age of 33. After his death, his empire was divided among his generals, beginning the Hellenistic Age of Greek cultural influence.
