Global Warming

 Is the rise in the

average temperature of

Earth's atmosphere and oceans…

Global warming
The current cycle of global warming is
changing the rhythms of climate that all
living things have come to rely upon.

What are the causes of this phenomena ?

Its circumstances ?and
What should we do to slow this warming?
Global Warming
The only way to
explain the pattern
is to include the effect
of

Greenhouse Gases
&
ChloroFluoroCarbons G H G

C F C
Emitted by humans
The gas responsible for the most warming is

carbon dioxide gas

Most come from the

• combustion of fossil fuels in cars, factories and

electricity production
• methane released from landfills and agriculture
(especially from the digestive systems of grazing
animals),
• nitrous oxide from fertilizers,
• gases used for refrigeration and industrial
processes,
Deforestation
The price is very high
Effects
of Glob
al warm
ing
• Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles.
• Sea level rise became faster over the last century
• Precipitation (rain and snowfall) has increased
Other effects could happen later this century, if
warming continues.

• Sea levels are expected to rise between 7 and 23 inches (18 and
59 centimeters) by the end of the century,
• melting at the poles could add between 4 and 8 inches
• Hurricanes and other storms are likely to become stronger.
• Less fresh water will be available
• Some diseases will spread, such as malaria carried by mosquitoes
• Scientists fears that if sea ice disappears, the polar bears will as
well.
Simple example
How can
we help our
world
and
reduce
Global warming ?
Please Stop
• Developing wind and solar power, hydrogen produced
from renewable sources
  Increasing forestlands
and making changes to
the nature.

Plants and trees absorb

CO2 as they grow.
improving energy efficiency and vehicle fuel economy
and reducing the gases we emit to the atmosphere
"carbon sequestration." process
By capturing the carbon dioxide emitted from
fossil fuels and store it underground
Using biofuels (produced from crops), natural
gas, and nuclear power.
