Digital manipulation is the process of
digitally editing an image. It is often
referred to as “photoshopping,” in
reference to Adobe's popular
eponymous photo-editing software, first
released in 1990 (other notable
programs include Corel Photopaint and
Paint Shop Pro).
What are the distinct characteristics of the
arts in this 21st century?
A pronounced tendency in the 21st
century has been art that is participatory,
in which the social interactions
prompted by a work become its
content. Often called relational art, the
work literally engages the public in some
way.
As a result, the characteristics of
digital art are classified into five
characteristics: perfect
duplicability, interactivity,
networkability, variability and
compositeness.
The distinct characteristics of technology-based
art are as follows:
1. It is produced digitally
2. It is easy to reproduce since it is digitally made.
3. It allows communication between the artist and the
audience
4. It can be easily accessed and shared with the use
of gadgets and the internet.
5. It uses different qualities of an art elements in
creating visual effect.
