To examine the impact of Covid 19 in low income neighbourhoods.

 To evaluate the impact of Covid 19 on education in low income
neighbourhoods
To identify interactive impacts of Covid 19 in low income neighborhoods
To describe economic impacts of Covid 19 in low income
neighbourhoods
Methodology
• Study Site. The study will be carried out at Mukuru kwa Ruben in Nairobi county. The area is a slum
area with low income communities.
• Study Population. The study participants will be male or female adults

• Study design. A qualitative narrative inquiry will be used for the study.

• Data collection tool . A semi structured questionnaire will be used.

• Inclusion criteria
Must be a resident of Mukuru kwa Ruben
Must be 18 years and above
Must be daily wage earners
Must consent to the study
Methodology
• Exclusion criteria
Have received any form of subsidy.

• Sample size determination.


A hundred (100) participants will be sampled conveniently until
thematic saturation is achieved.
Ethical Considerations
• Study approval. The study approval will be obtained from Ethics and
Research Committee (ERC), KNH-UoN.
• National Commission for Science Technology and Innovation
(NACOSTI) permit: The study permit will be obtained from the county
council.
• Study duration: The duration of the study will be 12 months.
• Data analysis: Data will be analyzed using Nvivo software
• Participant’s voluntary consent: All participants who wish to be part
of the study will give a written consent by signing consent forms.
