UPDATE ON THE ACQUISITION OF
URGENT EQUIPMENT

• The ICT department has planned to acquire 15 laptops.

• Licensed operating system and MS Office for all the machines to be acquired.
• Kaspersky internet security has also been planned to be acquired to provide
first-line security.
• Money counter machines and counterfeit money detectors have all been
planned for acquisition.
• One heavy-duty printer and two basic printers are planned.
• One projector and its accessories are planned as well.
• A concept note to this effect has been submitted for consideration.

UPDATE ON OFFICIAL ACCOUNTS
• The new staff have all been created official SACCO email
accounts.
• Training is yet to be conducted on the proper use of the
SACCOs email platform and other digital platforms.
• Credit assistants, accountant, and internal auditor have
been created accounts on the core banking system.

 UPDATE ON ICT POLICY
• The ICT policy has been received by the department. The softcopy has been availed to
the department.
• It’s ready to be adopted and deployed
• Copies are yet to be produced so that every staff acquires a copy as stipulated.
Updates on ICT training.
• Two pieces of training have been conducted at the head office for the staff. Both
pieces of training are for an orientation session on email use and the Microsoft Teams
application for virtual meetings.
• One training conducted at the Obongi branch on email and Teams use.

UPDATE ON UCSCU CBS
• Communication has been ongoing with the focal person.
• Requested reports to facilitate migration has been forwarded to them yesterday.
• Access to demo system given
• Training to be conducted onsite after successful migration.
• Documents for mobile banking filled and awaiting to be submitted.

 Update on Solar system
• Two onsite assessments have been conducted on the current system (solar now and
Amadi) quotations have been received and presented to the focal person. In total 4
different entities sent their quotations.
• Management is waiting for the finance committee to make a decision and approve one
service provider.
Update on Office Desk telephone and Intercom
• Quotation has been sourced from different companies and all have been received.
Since the year is coming to end the installation is to be done early next year. But
subject to discussion.
