At the end of the class, the students are
expected to;
1. Identify what is eulogy
2. Apply the correct stage stance and behavior
when giving tribute to someone in a eulogy
3. Create a short speech of eulogy about
someone who passed away

What is
Eulogy?
 Is a speech or a written text
that pays tribute to someone
who has just passed away. It is
in praise of someone who has
greatly influenced the people
he/she left behind.
 A eulogy is essentially a way of
saying farewell to a person who
has passed away by expressing
and sharing thoughts, feelings
and experiences that honor and
respect the deceased.
What is the
correct stage
stance and
behavior?
 You should deliver a
eulogy at a regular pace,
and you should focus on
the clarity of ideas and
sounds to get the
message across.
When paying tribute to someone in a
Eulogy, you should remember the

a) Good things the person has done
b)How he/she has positively affected
other people’s lives; and
c) What legacy he/she has left in the
world.

1. Write it down word to word
2. Keep it short and sweet
3. Practice, practice, practice
4. Speak slowly and make eye
contact

Group Activity: In memory of my Hero
a) Together with your groups, research about your
favorite hero or genius person who had passed away. Take
note of his/her significant contributes and admirable
qualities as a person.
b) Write a short eulogy based on the information you
have gathered. Complete the following table to guide you
in writing the eulogy.
c)Take turns in rehearsing the eulogy.
d)Deliver the speech in front of the class. Be guided by
the criteria below.
