SOURCES, AND ITS

STRESS
 a way by which your body
responds to pressure from your
surroundings
 the form of your response may be
emotional or physical
KINDS OF STRESS
Eustress
Distress
Hyperstress
Hypostress
1. EUSTRESS
 a kind of stress that suddenly make you strong
 caused by an increased in physical activity,
enthusiasm, or creativity
 positive kind of stress that arises from being
motivated and inspired
Ex. A volleyball player experiences eustress
before a competition when he or she gets a loud
applause from fans or supporters
2. DISTRESS
 the opposite of eustress
 causes a feeling of anxiety from having
your well-being threatened
 a persistent stress that may be in the form
of physical or emotional attact
 There are 3 types of distress: Acute stress,
Episodic Acute stress, and Chronic stress
DISTRESS
 Acute Stress
Most common stress. it is an intense stress that develops
and disappears quickly.
 Episodic Stress
Happens when a source of stress is followed by another
 Chronic Stress
Prolonged stress that last for weeks, months or even
years
DISTRESS
Ex. A pupil who is often bullied in school
and feels helpless.

A clerk who feels very tired and pressured in


meeting the deadline of his or her paper work.
3. HYPERSTRESS

 stress that develops when an individual is made to do or experience


more than what he or she can endure
 result of being overworked and overloaded
 can trigger strong emotional response even from little things
ex. An overworked mechanic is likely to experience hyperstress.
4. HYPOSTRESS

 stress that develops when an individual is bored or unchallenged


 it is opposite of hyperstress.
 people who experience this stress are often restless and uninspired
ex. A factory worker who has been performing the same task for the past
three years might experience hypostress
SOURCE OF STRESS
family problems
poor grades
broken relationships
acceptance
boredom
changes in puberty
SOURCE OF STRESS
(PUBERTY)
Boys experience puberty at age of 11 ]or 12 while
girls at 10 or 11. Most of the stress come from these
places at this age:
high expectation from self and others
pressure to get good grades and finish tasks
unsatisfactory relationships with parents, siblings
and friends
SOURCE OF STRESS
(PUBERTY)
physical and biological changes during puberty
low self-esteem
arguments, financial problems, tragidies and family
conflicts
change in school or residence
