 Domestic animals
The domestication of animals is the mutual relationship between
animals with the human who have influence on their care and
reproduction. Charles Darwin recognized the small number of traits
the made domesticated species different from their wild ancestors. He
was also the first to recognize the difference between selective breeding
in which humans directly select for desirable traits, and unconscious
selection where traits evolve as a by product of natural selection or
from selection on other traits.
Domestication should not be confused with taming. Taming is the
conditioned behavioral modification of a wild-born animal when its
natural avoidance of human is reduced and it accepts the presence of
humans, but domestication is the permanent genetic modification of a
bred lineage that leads to an inherited predisposition toward humans.
 About Hen
A chicken is a kind of domesticated bird. It is raised widely for its meat and eggs. They are
usually kept by humans as livestock, which means it is kept for its meat and eggs. Most
breeds of chicken can fly for short distances and some roost in trees if these are provided.
A male chicken called a rooster or a cock. A female chicken is called a hen. A young chicken
is called chick. Like other female birds, hens lay eggs which can hatch into chicks.
When raising chickens, a farmer needs to build a chicken coop(like a little house) for the
chickens to roost (sleep) in. They also need a run or yard where they can exercise, take dust
baths, eat, and drinks. The chickens also need to be protected from predators such as foxes,
which often done with fences.
 About Duck
Duck is the common name of species in the waterfowl family Anatidae, which also
includes swans and geese. Ducks are divided among several subfamilies in the
family Anatidate; they are not represent a monophyletic group but a form taxon,
since swans and geese are not considered ducks. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds,
mostly smaller than the swans and geese, and may be found in both fresh water
and sea water. Ducks also lays eggs.
 About Cat
Cat are similar in anatomy to the other fields, with a strong flexible body , quick reflexes,
sharp retractable claws , and teeth adapted to killing small prey. Cat senses fit a crepuscular
and predatory ecological niche. Cats can hear sounds too faint or too high in frequency for
human ears, such as those made by mice and other small animals. They can see in near
darkness. Like most other mammals, cats have poorer color vision and a better sense of smell
than humans. Cats, despite being solitary hunters, are asocial species and cat communication
includes the use of a variety of vocalizations (mewing, purring trilling, hissing, growling, and
grunting) as well as cat pheromones and types of cat specific body language.
 About dog
The dog is one of the most popular pets in the world. Dogs have long played an important role
in the lives of humans. It’s thought that dogs have been pets for thousands years. Dogs are often
called man’s best friend. This because dogs helps man out in so many ways.
There are lots of breeds and types of dogs. Dogs vary in size from very small to very large . Some
breeds of dogs are considered better for indoor or outdoor pets and some breeds considered
working dogs. Jobs that dogs performs includes( hunting, police work, rescue work, and seeing-
eye dog the blind. Because dogs are intelligent and willing to be trained, they make a great
companion and work animal.
 About Goat
The goat is a member of the family bovidae and is closely related to the sheep as both are in the
goat-antelope subfamily caprinae. There are over 300 distinct breeds of goats. Goats are one of
the oldest domesticated species, and have been used for their milk, meat, hair, and skins over
much of the world. In 2011, there were more than 924 million live goats around the globe,
according to the UN food and agriculture.
Female goats are referred to as does or nannies intact males are called buck or billies and
juveniles of both sexes are called kids. Castrated males are called wethers. Goat meat from
younger animals is called kid or cabrito, while meat from older animals known as simply as
goat or sometimes called chevon, or in some areas mutton.
