Dinámica de Maquinas
INTRODUCTION
 Flexible machine elements such as belts, cables or chains are used for power
transmission over comparatively large distances. When these elements are
used, they generally replace gear units, shafts and their bearings or similar
transmission devices. They therefore greatly simplify a machine or
mechanical installation, and are thus an important element in reducing costs.

They are also elastic and generally of great length, so that they play an
important role in absorbing shock loads and damping the effects of vibrating
forces. Although this advantage is important as far as the life of a driving
machine is concerned, the element of cost reduction is usually the main
factor in selecting these means of power transmission.

driven sprockets and a chain section connected at both ends that
engages on the sprockets. The flexibility of the transmission is
ensured by the chain, which consists of links connected by pins,
which ensure the necessary flexibility of the chain during
engagement with the sprockets. In the simplest case, the chain
drive consists of a chain and two sprockets, called star wheels,
sprockets or sprockets, one of which is the driving and the other
the driven.
BELT DRIVE

 Belt drives, in their simplest form, consist of a belt placed under tension on
two pulleys: a driving pulley and a driven pulley. As the belt moves, it
transmits power from the driving pulley to the driven pulley by means of the
friction that arises between the belt and the pulleys.
 Due to the flexibility of the drive element, the belt drive allows for a
relatively arbitrary arrangement of the shafts of the driving and driven
pulleys, and a varied number of pulleys in the drive. One way to classify the
belt drive is based on the layout of the pulleys and belts in the drive.

BELTS

 Belts are commonly used to transmit power between two

parallel shafts. Such shafts must be located at a certain
minimum distance, depending on the type of belt used,
in order to work with the highest efficiency. Belts have They can be observed in
the following characteristics: the R38 washed airs.
 They can be used for large center-to-center distances.
 Due to the sliding and grooving effects that occur in the
belts, the ratio between the angular velocities of the two
shafts is not constant, nor exactly equal to the ratio
between the diameters of the pulleys.
When flat belts are used, clutching action can be
obtained by passing the belt from a idler pulley to a
power pulley.
When V or V-belts are used, it is possible to obtain some
variation in the angular velocity ratio variation by using a
smaller pulley with spring-loaded sides.
