1. CLARO M. RECTO
 “The Great Dissenter”. Recto was also
considered “the finest mind of his
generation.”

 He headed the assembly that drafted the


1935 Constitution and personally
brought it to US President Theodore
Roosevelt to sign.
2. JUAN FLAVIER
 the most beloved official of all time,
Juan Flavier truly exemplified the
meaning of public service.
 he was the country’s Secretary of Health
and later a Senator, Flavier always
considered himself as just a “barrio
doctor” in the service of the people.
3. SERGIO OSMEÑA
 Cebu’s beloved “Grand Old Man”—
would be remembered as the most
famous and successful politician to ever
come out of that province.
undoubtedly a powerful and
influential man—exhibited humility
and graciousness throughout his life,
a trait rare in today’s politicians.
4. LUIS TARUC
 He was a political leader, peasant leader, and
Philippine leader of the communist.
Movement. He was elected to the Philippine
House of Representatives as a member of the
Democratic Alliance. He opposed the
constitutional amendment that would give
American businessmen parity rights, the Bell
Trade Act, the Parity Amendment to the
Constitution, and the Military Bases
Agreement.
5. BENIGNO AQUINO JR.
 "Wonder Boy of Philippine Politics” He
was a Politician, Journalist, Defense
Adviser, Negotiator, Freedom and Anti
Dictatorship Fighter. A courageous
defender of freedom, his mission was to
reconcile the Filipino people and restore
democracy. He was a staunch critic of
the Marcos regime and its abuses.
6. MAXIMO KALAW
"Father of Political Science". He
was nationalist scholar, legislator,
journalist, educator, and historian.
He was a great pioneer in the study
of Political Science in our country
and the first Filipino head of the
Department of Political Science in
University of the Philippines.
7. BLAS OPLE
 “Father of the Labor Code”. He was an adviser to a
President, Journalist, Minister of Labor, a framer of
the 1987 Philippine Constitution, Senator, Senate
President, and Secretary of Foreign Affairs. He fought
in the World War Il as a teenage officer of the Del
Pilar Regimet and Buenavista Regimet-Bulacan
Military Area until the capture of Gen. Yamashita.He
became a Commissioner of Social Security System,
Minister of Labor and Employment, during his tenure
he framed the “Labor Code of the Philippines” and
Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
8. APOLINARIO MABINI
 He was a Filipino revolutionary leader,
educator, lawyer, and statesman who
served first as a legal adviser of Emilio
Aguinaldo and constitutional adviser to
the Revolutionary Government, and then
as the first Prime Minister of the
Philippines upon the establishment of
the First Philippine Republic. He was
called as the "Brains of the Philippine
Revolution" and "Sublime Paralytic".
