INTRODUCTION

Power BI is a Data Visualization and Business Intelligence tool by Microsoft


that converts data from different data sources to create various business
intelligence reports. It provides interactive visualizations using which end
users can create reports and interactive dashboards by themselves.
GET DATA (Data Source):

Get Data feature lets Power BI users to select data from a range of data sources. The data sources
are anywhere in the spectrum from on-premise to cloud-based, unstructured to structured. New
data sources are added every month. In Power BI, we can also filter the datasets and have
smaller subsets containing only the important data and contextual relevance. 
We can insert our desired theme in Power BI.
VISUALISATION TOOLS:

Power BI comes with many out-of-the box visuals. These


Power BI visuals are available in the visualization pane of
both Power BI Desktop and Power BI service, and can be
used for creating and editing Power BI content.

o A real time example of using power BI tool is creating a sales


performance dashboard. This dashboard will give us an insight of the
sales performance i.e. number of orders, profit etc. Sales dashboards
provide an overview of your key performance indicators
(KPIs).Common metrics that are tracked include quota attainment,
conversion/win rate, average deal size, revenue, and sales funnel
leakage.
POWER BI
SALES PERFORMANCE DASHBOARD

A sales dashboard is a visual representation of your sales data. We


can filter information using different time periods and even pull in
real-time data with some sales dashboards.

Informed by the KPIs, sales leaders track the team’s progress


toward goals and revenue targets, adjust compensation, and award
bonuses. They can also identify issues before they become colossal
problems and make other key decisions.
