 DESCRIPTION

Review text is the text to classify a

work, good movies, books and others,
so that we know the qualities, strengths
and weaknesses in the work.
 SOCIAL FUNCTION

a. To provide information to the reader about

the details of the product delivered.
b. To provide criticism and suggestions of
products that you describe.
 TEXT STRUCTURE

a. Orientation
Orientation is an introduction. The introduction usually
consists of the name of the product, things will be
discussed, or even compared with other products

b. Evaluation
This evaluation consists of full details of the information that
is in the products you discussed. if you are writing on a full
review of a product, It covers the most important parts in the
products, shortages and product excellence. Review of this
type commonly used in the sale of a product. This evaluation
is so that readers are able to understand the products you
describe.
 TEXT STRUCTURE

c. Interpretation
In the interpretation is usually written opinion of the
author of the review of the work described. The opinion
must be based on facts that have been given in the
evaluation. In this section, the author must provide an
opinion whether the work is worth it or not.

d. Summary
Summary is the last part that is in a review text, contains a
summary of what has been described in the previous
paragraphs
Linguistic characteristics of the review
text:

a. Focus on a work of art (books, movies, and

products) o Review text written using the present
tense sentence
patterns.
In which many common adjective for explaining a
work (good, bad, excelent, and great.)
b. Sometimes using a clause that is long enough.
c. Contains parable or analogy.
 EXAMPLE

Orientation
I will start by saying that I am a huge fan of Spider-
man. I love all the scenes of Spiderman 3 but I do
not like the The Amazing Spiderman 1. Spiderman 3
is full of action, humor, and emotional. Played by
the big players, the story is well- written. The action
is really spectacular and the final scene makes me
satisfied.
 EXAMPLE

Evaluation
The story begins when Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield)
struggled to maintain his relationship with Gwen (Emma
Stone) after her father's death. His actions also causes the
emergence of a new enemy, Electro, a villain played by
James Foxx. Peter also continue to investigate what
happened to his father and reunited with his old friend,
Harry Osborn. This movie is ended by the death of Gwen
that makes the audience will be very emotional and sad.
 EXAMPLE

Interpretation
However I have to criticize about this film addressed
to Paul Giamatti who plays Rhino. His appearance is
too over. His acting also does not show that he is a
feared villain. It would be a serious problem for the
next Spiderman series. So I hope he can improve his
acting better than before.
 EXAMPLE

Summary
Overall, I think this is the best superhero movie
since the appearance of The Dark Knight Rises. The
script is well-written and convincing. I am sure the
next series will be outstanding superhero movie. I
recommend this movie to anyone who loves Spider-
man or other superhero movies.
