INTRODUCTION

MEMORY

 Memory is a device which can store a symbol sketch from a set of

symbol.
 The number of stable states in which it can be place.

 Memory is of two types such as volatile memory and non volatile

memory.
 Memory is use to store large Quantity of data in it.
MEMORY TYPES
MEMORY AND ITS TYPES

1.Volatile Memory

 Volatile Memory include S-RAM and D-RAM

 In which S-RAM is static ram which stored data

temporarily.

 D-RAM stand for Dynamic ram which stored data

permanently.
NON VOLATILE MEMORY
INTRODUCTION

 It include two types of program which are manufacture program and user
program.
 Manufacture program means rom and rom is stand for read only memory.

 User program is divided into two types this are PROM and EPROM.
 The PROM is a programmable read only memory.

 The EPROM is a Erasable programmable memory.

 EPROM is also sub divided into two types which are UV EPROM and EE
PROM.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RAM AND ROM

RAM ROM
A RAM Is a volatile memory A ROM Is non-Volatile
memory
Data lost when its power Data doesn’t lost when its
supply is switched off power supply is switched off
Ram is used for stored A Rom is used for stored
program temporarily program permanently
SIMMS, DIMMS,SODIMMS PROM, EPROM and EE PROM
and RAMMS are the types of are the types of ROM
RAM
