Quantitative Research is a type of research

that collect and analyzes numerical data
obtained from questionnaires, survey,
test, checklist and other formal paper-
and-pencil instruments. This can be use
to find patterns and averages, in making
predictions, in testing casual relationships
and in generalizing results to a wider
populations.

Correlational

Correlational Research is a Quantitative Research

Design which aims to measure the relationship
between two variable. It is a type of research design
that looks at the relationships between two or more
variable without the researchers manipulating
them. A correlation reflects the strength and/or
direction of the relationship between two (or more)
variables. The direction of a correlation can be
either positive or negative.
TYPES OF CORRELATIONAL

Positive correlations Negative No

-both variables increase correlations
-as the amount of one correlation
-there is no
or decrease at the same variable increases, the relationships between
time. A correlation other decreases (and vice the two variables. A
coefficient close to +1.00 versa). A correlation correlation coefficient
indicates a strong coefficient close to -1.00 of zero (0) indicates
positive correlation. indicates a strong no correlations.
negative correlation.
Descriptive
Descriptive Research is a Quantitative
Research Design that describes the
characteristics of the population or
event that is being studied. It focuses
on describing the demographics and what
their opinion or perception is about the
phenomenon. More specifically, it helps
answer the what, when, where, and how
questions regarding the research problem
rather than the why.
Survey Research
Surveys are the most popular and common method
to gather data. You can ask multiple questions to a
wide population. Moreover, you can conduct
surveys using online survey tools. The data
analysis is also simple since you can use advanced
survey analytics software.

You can choose to conduct surveys in two ways-

cross-sectional and longitudinal surveys.
Survey Research

• Cross-sectional surveys- are used when you

want to conduct research at a given point in time

• Longitudinal surveys- on the other hand, are

used when you want to run surveys at various
durations.
Experimental Research

Experimental Research is a type of

Quantitative Research design which aims to
establish a cause and effect relationship
between dependent and independent variable.
Independent variable is a variable that you
manipulate and Dependent variable is a
variable that changes as a result of the
manipulation of the independent variable.
Experimental Research

Experimental research has two important

components, there must be an experimental
and control group and the subjects must be
randomly assigned into groups. The
experimental research design involves
conducting a set of procedures to test the
hypothesis.
Quasi-Experimental Research

The word “Quasi” means similarity. Similar

to the experimental research design, quasi-
experimental research also aims to identify
a cause-and-effect relationship between
two variables; independent and dependent
variables. However, quasi-experimental
involves subjects being assigned to groups
based on non-random criteria.
Quasi-Experimental Research

Among the types of quantitative research,

this design is often employed when true
experiments cannot be carried out due to
practical or ethical reasons. A notable
advantage of this design is that it has higher
external validity than most true experiments,
as it often involves real-world interventions
instead of an artificial laboratory setting.
