What is Health-Related
Fitness?
Exercises that are done
with the intention of
improving one’s physical
health and maintaining a
healthy lifestyle are
included in the concept of
Health-Related Fitness.
The Five components
of Health-Related
Fitness include;
Cardiovascular
Endurance, Muscular
Strength, Muscular
Endurance, Flexibility,
and Body Composition
Body Composition
Body Composition is the
makeup of body in terms
of lean mass ( muscle,
bone, vital tissue, and
organs) and fat
mass.Nutriton and
exercise are critcal for
improving body
composition.
Cardiovascular Endurance
Cardiovascular endurance
is the ability of the
cardiovascular system
and respiratory system to
deliver enough oxygen
and other nutrients to the
working muscles and
remove waste.
Flexibility
Flexibility is the ability of a
joint or group of joints to
move through their full range
of motion without pain or
restriction.
Even though flexibilty varies
a lot from person to person,
everyone needs to stay within
certain minimum ranges keep
their joints and bodies
healthy.
Muscular Strength
Muscular strength is the
capacity of the muscle to
produce during a relatively
short period of time.
Weightlifting exercises,
squats and lunges promotes
muscular strength.
Muscular Endurance
Muscular Endurance is the
ability of a muscle to exert
maximum amount of force
for a brief period of time.
Circuit training and body
weight exercises are all good
ways to build muscle
endurance.
Power
Power is the ability to move
the body parts swiftly while
applying the maximum
force of the muscles. Power
is a combination of both
speed and muscular
strength.
