Counseling is a process of helping people make decisions and giving them confidence
to put their decisions into practice. Counseling should take into consideration the
emotional, social, economic and spiritual needs of the client. Good counseling does
not encourage the counselor to give advice. You need some counseling skills to enable
you reach out to your clients effectively.
MEANING OF COUNSELING This
is a planned, structure dialogue between a counselor and a client. The counselor is
trained to listen with empathy. Is a type of client provider interaction that involves
two-way communication between a health care worker and a client for the purpose of
confirming or facilitating a decision by the client, or helping the client address
problems or concern. It is an interaction between a counselor and counselee.
