BRACHIALIS
ORIGIN:
Front of lower half of humerus
INSERTION:
Coronoid process of ulna
NERVE SUPPLY:
Musculocutaneous nerves
NERVE ROOTS:
C5,C6
ACTION:
FLEXOR OF ELBOW JOINT
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE
ROOT VALUE:
Ventral rami of C5-C7 segments of spinal cord
ORIGIN,COURSE,TERMINATION:
• It is a branch of the lateral cord of brachial plexus, lies lateral to axillary and
upper part of brachial artery.
• It supplies coracobrachialis, pierces the muscle to lie in the intermuscular
septum between between biceps brachii and brachialis muscles, both of
which supplied by this nerve
• About 2.5cm above the crease of elbow, it becomes cutaneous by piercing
the deep fascia.
• The nerve is called the lateral cutaneous nerve of forearm which supplies
skin of lateral side of forearm both on the front and back.
