    Nigeria’s big issues in 2022

    ● Cost of living crisis, Nigeria’s inflation hit up to 21.47 percent, number of people
    living in poverty rose to 133 million (63% of population) according to National
    Bureau statistics.

    ● Floods in Niger river (Hundreds were killed in large-scale floods).

    ● Armed group expansion (Boko Haram).


    Nigeria Today

    ● Annalena Baerbock, Germany’s foreign minister, returned


    the prized cultural artefacts to Nigerian officials in a
    ceremony in the capital of Nigeria Abuja.

    ● In recent years, Nigerian authorities have intensified efforts


    to have the looted artefacts returned.

    Nigeria’s 2023 election

    ● The 2023 Nigerian presidential election will be held on 25 february 2023 to elect the
    president and vice president of Nigeria.

    ● Other federal elections, including elections to the house of representatives and


    the senate will also be held on the same date.
