Description of KPI-Development (2)

Hints for Assessor:
• The following aspects have to be mentioned in the potentials/recommendations:
• If there is a big KPI-fluctuation from month to month (as we consider in step 1 – 3 only
averages)
• If the System-CIP target is not challenging or not in line with the business requirements
• If targets are set which have no or minor effect on the system performance (for example
high OEE at a station without capacity problems)
• Changing frame conditions must not lead to an adjustment of the KPI development for the
evaluation of the level! (for example: Failure costs increase due to less rework and therefore more
scrap!)
• Systematic incidents that effect the KPI (e.g. depreciation of inventory at the end of the year)
should not lead to an adjustment of the KPI development for evaluation of the maturity
• In case of single incidents which do not result of the value stream performance the assessor can
consider if the adjusted KPI-development reflect the continuous improvement (e.g. one time
wrong booking that has been corrected in the next period, no effect on cost, quality, delivery)
