Tom Sawyer an orphan who lives in the town of St.Petersburg with his aunt, cousin and half
brother. Tom has a “knack” of getting into trouble. The book follows his many adventures and his

Similarities and differences between the
setting
the similarities In both settings the children are not under a lot of adult supervision. The
characters are also both from a poor economic state. In addition the race of the characters has a
lot to due with how they are treated.
The difference's are that in The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer is in the country side and takes place
about 150 years before The Freedom Writers diaries which takes place in the city.
recommendations
I recommend both the book and the movie because they are both very interesting and make us
look at society in a different perspective. In addition both of them give us a look at the American
history in different times and in different places.
