TOOLS AND DEVICES

ALL KIND
Drill
• DRILL
A drill or drilling machine is a tool primarily used for making round holes
or driving fasteners. It is fitted with a bit, either a drill or driver, depending
on application, secured by a chuck. Some powered drills also
include a hammer function. Drills vary widely in speed, power, and size.
Sander
• A sander is a power tool used to smooth surfaces
by abrasion with sandpaper. Sanders have a means to attach the sandpaper
and a mechanism to move it rapidly contained within a housing with
means to hand-hold it or fix it to a workbench. Woodworking sanders are
usually powered electrically, and those used in auto-body repair work
by compressed air.
Lathe
• A lathe is machine tool that rotates a workpiece about an axis of rotation
to perform various operations succchh as cutting, sanding, knitting,
drilling, deformation, facing and turning, with tools that are applies to the
workpiece to create an object with symmetry about that axis. Lathes are
used in woodturning, metalworking, metal spinning, thermal spraying,
parts reclamation, and glass-working
Mill
• Milling cutters are cutting tools typically used in milling machines
or machining centres to perform milling operations (and occasionally in
other machine tools). They remove material by their movement within the
machine or directly from the cutter's shape.
Shaper
• A shaper is a type of machine tool that uses linear relative motion between
the workpiece and a single-point cutting tool to machine a linear toolpath.
Its cut is analogous to that of a lathe, except that it is linear instead
of helical.
• A wood shaper is a functionally different woodworking tool, typically
with a powered rotating cutting head and manually fed workpiece.
Jigs and fixtures
JIG - work holding device that holds, supports and locates the workpiece
and guides the cutting tool for a specific operation. A jig is a type of device
used to control the location and/or motion of another tool.
FIXTURES - work holding device that holds, supports and locates the
workpiece for a specific operation but does not guide the cutting tool. It
provides only a reference surface or a device. What makes a fixture unique
is that each one is built to fit a particular part or shape.
Saw
• Saw is a tool consisting of a tough blade, wire, or chain with a hard
toothed edge. It is used to cut through material, very often wood though
sometimes metal or stone. The cut is made by placing the toothed edge
against the material and moving it forcefully forth and less forcefully back
or continuously forward.
Cutting snips
• Snips, also known as shears, are hand tools used to cut sheet metal and
other tough webs. There are two broad categories: tinner's snips, which
are similar to common scissors, and compound-action snips, which use
a compound leverage handle system to increase the mechanical advantage.
