Set Up Slide Show

A slide show or slide
presentation is a series of
pictures or pages of
information (slides), often
displayed on a large
screen using a video
projector. The first slide
shows were done with
pictures on pieces of
glass, to be later replaced
photographic film slides in
the 1940s.
Hide Slide

Hidden Slides, as the name

suggests, are slides that will
not appear in your
presentation but are still part
of your presentation.
Research Timings
When you want to record
a running time for each
slide, use the Rehearse
Timings feature. This
enables you to run
through your presentation
in Slide Show view and
record the time each slide
takes. Then, use
the timings to run the
show automatically,
either to help
you rehearse, or for a self-
running show.
Record Slide Show

When you record a slide
show in PowerPoint, you
advance through
the slides in Slide Show view
while narrating it. This saves
the narration with the slides. In
the future, you can view
the presentation in Slide
Show see it while hearing the
narration you recorded.
Play Narrations
Click “Properties” and then the
“Levels” tab to adjust the sound
level. In PowerPoint, open the
finished presentation you would
like to narrate. Click on the
“Slide Show” tab and check
“Play Narrations, Use Timings
and Show Media Controls,”.Click
on the down arrow in the
“Record Slide Show” tool.
Use Timings

If you want
to use the timings as you
present, you can turn
the timing on before you play
the slide show. On the Slide
Show tab, in Set Up, select
the Use Timings check box.
Show Media Controls

To show the media
controls during
your presentation, do the
following: On the
Slide Show tab, in the Set up
group, select the Show Media
Controls check box.
