Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of key
concepts of geometry of shapes and sizes, and geometric
relationships.

Performance Standard:
The learner is able to create models of plane figures
and formulate and solve accurately authentic problems
involving sides and angles of a polygon.
PLANETS OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM
PLANETS OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM

There are eight planets in the solar system. The four

inner terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and
Mars, all of which consist mainly of rock. The four outer
planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus, giant
planets that consist mainly of either gases or ice. Pluto
was considered the ninth planet until 2006, when the
International Astronomical Union voted to classify Pluto
as a dwarf planet instead.
Circle and the terms
related to it
MELC:

The learner illustrates a circle and the terms related to

it: radius, diameter chord, center, arc, chord, central
angle, and inscribed angle. M7GE-IIIg-1
Specific objectives:

1. Identify, name and illustrate the terms

related to it.
SPELL
WELL
1. radius
2. diameter
3. chord
4. Arc
5. Central Angle
Now, let us study circle and the terms related to
it by watching the video.
What was the main topic of
the video?
How would you define a
circle?
Can you name the terms
related to circle?
What do you call the fixed
point in the circle?
What is line segment from
the center to any point on
the circle?
Can you tell the line segment
that passes through the
center and whose endpoints
lie on the circle?
How would you define a
Chord?
What is an arc?
Name three kinds of arc?
What is the difference
between central angle and
inscribed angle?
Circle
Circle
- is the set of all
points on a plane
having a fixed
distance from a
fixed point called
center.
Terms Related to Circle
Center
• Is the fixed point in the
circle.
• We name the circle

Let’s Identify the following:

1. A fixed point in the circle
2. A line segment that passes through the center.
3. A linep segment joining the two points on the circle.
4. An angle whose vertex is on the circle and whose sides
contain in the circle.
5. An angle shoes sides are two radii of the circle and whose
vertex in the center of the circle.
6. The three types of arcs?
7. A line segment from the center to any point on the circle.
