HISTORY OF BATTERIES
• Normal battery - Carbon + Lithium
• Rechargeable battery - Carbon + Lithium +
Some chemicals
• Paper battery - Nanotube + Cellular
paper
BASIC STRUCTURE
• Cathode - Carbon Nanotube (CNT).
• Anode - Lithium metal (Li+).
• Electrolyte - All electrolytes.
• Separator - Paper (cellulose).
MAKING
• Paper is infused with aligned carbon nanotubes.
• Tiny carbon filaments (or) nanotubes substitute for
the electrodes used in a conventional battery. It uses
an ionic liquid solution as an electrolyte.
• Electrodes & Electrolytes = Nano composite paper
battery material.
WORKING
• Nanotubes acting as electrodes.
• Electrolyte & Carbon nanotubes = chemical reaction.
• Electrons are collected on (-) terminal of the battery and
flows along a connected wire to (+) terminal.
• Traditional batteries produce electrons through chemical
reaction.
• Paper battery produce electrons due to interaction of
electrolytes LTO and LCO. Paper electrode stores charge
while recharging in 10sec because ion flows in thin
electrode quickly.
• Electrons must flow from (-) to (+) terminal for the chemical
reaction to continue.
