The main goal of this project is to create a home automation system utilising an Arduino board and
Bluetooth that can be managed remotely from any Android OS smartphone. Houses are becoming
smarter as technology has advanced. Modern homes are rapidly migrating away from traditional switches
and towards centralised control systems with remote-controlled switches.

Currently, standard wall switches positioned in various sections of the home make it difficult for the
user to go near them in order to use them. It becomes even more difficult for the elderly or physically
disabled people to do so. With smartphones, a remote controlled home automation system gives the most
modern solution.
To accomplish this, a Bluetooth module is interfaced to the Arduino board at the receiving end, while a
GUI application on the mobile phone transmits ON/OFF signals to the receiver where loads are
connected at the transmitter end. Through this technique, the loads can be remotely switched ON/OFF by
tapping the specified spot on the GUI. The loads are controlled by the Arduino board via opto-isolators
and thyristors via triacs.
Introduction
Our lives are much easier now that we have remote controls for our televisions and other technological
devices. Have you ever considered home automation, which would allow you to use a remote control to
operate fans, tube lights, and other electrical items in your house? Of course, Yes! But are the
alternatives reasonably priced? We have a fix for that if the response is no.
We are going to develop a Bluetooth-Based Home Automation System using Arduino. An automated
gadget can function with versatility, thoroughness, and the lowest possible error rate. Automation systems
not only reduce human work but also save time and energy. Early home automation systems were utilised
in labour-saving devices, but today one of their major goals is to enable elderly and disabled persons to
conduct daily routine activities and manage house equipment remotely. A Bluetooth-based wireless
home automation system is inexpensive and simple to install in any house.

In this paper, the design of the home app comes with local houses and nice home automation features with
remote access. Although home automation was first introduced to the global market in the 1970s, it fell short
of human expectations and was not successful. There are a variety of reasons related to the breakdown of
home automation systems. The system was not easy to use and it was not expensive. An important
consideration when designing a home automation system
today is that it should be economical and easy to install.

In this paper, the work focuses on concept of home automation where the monitoring and control operations
are facilitating through smart devices installed in residential buildings. Heterogeneous homeautomation
systems and technologies considered in review with central controller based (Arduino or Raspberry pi), web
based, email based, Bluetooth-based, mobile-based, SMS based, ZigBee based, Dual Tone Multi Frequency-
based, cloud-based and the Internet with performance.
Raspberry Pi proves to be a powerful, economic and efficient platform for implementing the smart home
automation. Raspberry pi based home automation is better than other home automation methods as in
DTMF (dual tone multi-frequency) [11], the call tariff is a huge disadvantage, which is not the case in their
proposed method.

Methodology
First, we coded the Arduino board with the required configurations
Then, we make all the required connections
And connect our circuit to our phone Arduino UNO app via the Bluetooth module
We, can finally control and operate our app to turn the peripherals (bulb) on/off
