 Alarm Monitoring of OLT’s & ONT’s

We can check current & historical alarms related to OLT and ONT.

Precedure:

I. Click on “Alarm” Tab and pop windo will be shown.

II. Check on “Alarm Name”.
III. Click on 3 dots box to select specific alarm from search box and
press ok.
IV. after selecting alarm, we can adjust custom time and date.

Note: Most monitoring alarms are followings:

• Link Loss
• Pon Link Loss
• Main Management Channel Interruption.

Current, Compare, Hisrtory, Real-time,PonTraffice of perfomance for downstream or upstream can me

observed using NMS.
We can check traffic on each ONT.

Number of WIFI users can be counted by double clicking on ONT and the clicking
“ONU MAC Address” tab.
How We Troubleshoot Queries
 Problem Statement
Customer complaining for low downloading speed.
Step 1: Package Statement:
Ask customer which package they have activated. confrm package details from billing department.
Step 2: Power check
Check opt power of ont .if opt power range b/w -9 to -29 then there is no physical issue .
if power is greater the -9 , then ask field team to resolve power issue.

Step 3: Ethernet Connectivity

Ack Customer to connect through Ehternet using LAN 1 or LAN 2
Step 4: Disable WIfi
To distable Wifi right click ONT and select “Service Configuration”.
In search box of service configuration type wifi and select “Wifi Service Config”.
From Wifi Service config click “IGD_Wan_apmodule enable”. After disabling create on device as show below.

After this move to “Perfomance Code” and perform the folling steps below.

After performing all above steps click “ok”. Test will get started. Slect Graph 2 and observe the peak
speed as shown below.

Obser the peak speed for 3-5 minutes and satisfy the customer accordingly.
ONT Registration
ONU Registration
1. Open ONU List and click on Obtain unauthorized ONU
2. Mark Check all cards
3. Right click on unauthorized ONU and add to authority list then authorized to the whitelist.
4. Select current row and then ok
5. At last right click on required onu and select creat on device in onu authorization list.
6. select current row and then press yes
1. Right click on required ONU and move to port service configuration.
2. Click on Data Port.
3. Click on LAN on which you want to configure IPTV and select Service Coniguration and then add.
4. Fulfill these parameters once for unicast and again for multicast. Press OK and create on device.
5. After adding Unicast and Multicast then click create on device.
6. Repeat the obove process for all LANs you want to configure and the create on device.
1. Right click the ONU you want to enable for Internet from ONU list and select Service Configuration
2. In Search Window search for wan services and the add row from WAN Services.
3. add 1 row and press OK
4. Add the following parameters in the added row.
Wan Account
LAN Ports
5. After adding above mentioned parameters click create on device.
6. Select Yes after create onm device.
1. Open ONU list of required OLT and then open NGN Configuration from favourite list.
2. Add one row from the NGN Configuration main bar.
3. Fulfill the following parameters in added row.
Gateway is same for all ONU in one OLT.
4. Click create on device from main bar
5. Open ONU list and move to Port Service Configuration of required ONU.
6. Click on Voice Port> FXS1 and then put the data in user index and click create on device.
1.Double click on ONU and click on ONU MAC Address from below list. It will give us connected lan and wifi users.
2. From the same list Click on ONU Port Panel and check the Port status on ONU LANs.
From subrack view we can check the status of OLT; connected uplink ,downlink an other cards.
Alarm Observation.
1. Click on Alarms from Main bar and select alarms name>ok.
2. Select Occurance Time>ok.
 How to Ping any OLT
There are two way to ping any OLT
1. By Using command tool
2. By using cmd

By command tool

· Right click on any OLT >tools>ping

· Select ping you will see below screen(command Tool)
This is ping response when OLT is in normal/working condition.

By using cmd
· Connect NMS Ethernet with PC/Labtop
· open cmd and type ping with ip address of any OLT (e.g ping 10.240.xx.xx)
· This is ping response via cmd when OLT is in normal/running condition.

For Individual(Specific) STB

1:If STB stuck on 10% showing "Network failed".

Ø Check the Ethernet cable is connected properly. Connector of cable on

both sides are properly punched.
Ø Check Iptv configurations on Ont level like service vlan for unicast and
multicast which should be 204 in tag mode. Check same procedure for
huawei Ont's(need to ask region to check from Huawei guys).

2:If STB stuck in "85% Authentication Failed" error.

Ø Check STB is connected to right port of Ont on which IPTV service is configured.
Ø Check STB DHCP ip from Network info(settings of STB) which should be 10.24x.x.x
Ø Check STB wire-less mode is on or off. It should be turn off.

3:If STB showing Blue screen Chinese error like 2001,4001 etc

Ø Check STB is binded in platform with account and password.

Ø Check STB account is inserted in STB account setting. Please insert account
carefully.
Ø Check regional POC is using the right account for IPTV service in STB account
setting(Confirm correct STB account credentials from Platform).
Ø Check IPTV service is whether stop or pause from billing(Check status from
Platform).

4: If STB is showing Black screen.

Ø Check HDMI cable.
Ø Check HDMI is connected properly from both ends.
Ø Check user is connected to correct HDMI port of LCD.

For Bulk of STB's

1:If STB stuck on 10% showing "Network failed".

Ø Check first OLT is up when issue will occur. Same for Huawei OLT's

Ø Open cmd and Check ping response of both ip's 10.240.40.0(Cisco router) &
10.240.66.1(H3C switch FH). if not ping then it means switch is not
communicating with cisco router. Also need to check this ip(10.240.66.17) on
switch.
Ø Check ping response of IPTV platform AAA servers ip's
(10.240.66.17).Connect laptop and connect it with ONT (IPTV lan port).
Ø Check DNS Ping response of 10.255.255.18, 10.255.255.19/New DNS ips
Ø Check DNS is resolving the URL's or not (tvaaa.sco.gov.pk, tvstb.sco.gov.pk,
tvntp.sco.gov.pk).Use "nslookup" command in laptop connected with ONT

Step 2:Press Device-Device List-Add.

Device Model,please enter.
