Movable Joints
Movable Joints
Lesson objectives
To learn structure of movable joints.
Lets think!
Why don’t the bones of a movable joint
hit each other when you walk?
The bones in movable joints are
connected to each other by ligaments
(связка,байлам).
Cartilage (шеміршек, хрящ) covers
each bone tip in movable joint.
Movable joints are covered by joint
capsule. There is a synovial fluid in joint
capsule which reduce friction.
Types of movable joints
1.Ball-and-socket
2.Hinge
3.Pivot
Ball-and-socket joint
Itis joint that allows rotary movement in
any direction.
Ex: shoulder joint, hip joint
Hinge
Itis a joint between bones that allows
move only in one direction.
Ex: jaws, elbow
Pivot
It is a joint in which bones rotate around a
single axis.
Ex: head moving along neck, joint
between ulna and radius.
