A. The Levels
of Schooling
as a Teaching Milieu
1. Primary Level
-Usually composed of Pre-primary and
Primary Level

Pre-Primary Level
Composed of the following:
-Play school
-Kindergarten

Primary Level
Composed of the following:
-Grades 1- 6(Aged 6-11 Years old)
In the Philippines, the label primary level
refers to the Elementary level which is
divided into two sublevels namely:

1.Primary Grades
-Which includes Kindergarten to Grades 1-
4

2. Intermediate Grades
- Which includes Grades 5-6
2. Secondary Level
-follows the primary level and composed of
Junior and Senior High School.
-however there are some variations in some
countries such as lower secondary and upper
secondary level

Lower Secondary Level


- composed of Grades 7- 9

Upper Secondary Level


- composed of Grades 10- 12
In the Philippines, the secondary level has two
levels namely:

1. Junior High School


-composed of Grades 7- 10
2. Senior High School
- composed of Grades 11-12

The graduate of Senior High School can do the


following:
• Proceed to College
• To find a job appropriate to qualification
2. Tertiary Level
-is the college level which is beyond basic
education in all countries in the ASEAN.
- a ladder of educational system where the
student earns a Bachelor’s Degree which is a
requirement for the taking of licensure
examination to become a teacher.

In the Philippines, Technical Education and Skills


Development Authority (TESDA), provides diploma
and training certificates for lifelong learning that also
assists the implementation of the Senior High School
Technical- Vocational Track.
