COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES
Use the comparative form of an adjective +
than to compare two people, places, or things.

RULE Nª 2
Add only –r if the adjective ends in e.

If a one syllable adjective ends with a consonant + a
vowel + a consonant you must double the last
consonant and then ad –er.

If an adjective ends with a “y”, remove the “y” and add
–ier.

To form the comparative of most adjectives of two or
more syllables, add more before the adjective.
