DIVERSITY IN DESIGN 4
The classroom was set up in groups of four and in the back of the room there was a big table for
when students have group assignments or when students are having a group meeting with the teacher.
All the school tools were in reach of students and if you needed more students ask the teacher to go
behind his desk. Students have the freedom to use teacher's tools if they just ask and they have
flexibility to work on different assignment if they finished the one, they working on. These schools also
follow the School District of Lee County School Board policy 4.1 for bully prevention. One of the
teachers followed the sign and talked to his student to find out what's been bothering her. One of the
other students called her a name towards the end of the day so before the other student left, he had a
talk and wrote him up so the principal could talk to him. The school website has a spot what you can
read what’s going on in a different language and if you parent doesn’t understand English, they have
forms in other languages. The teachers do have positive poster hanging in a room such as everyone
grows at different rates and have a poster of different types of people holding hands. Books are
available and if reach for all students and teachers have books from different types of authors
backgrounds. When you walk into the school if you ask for another language or it looks like you’re
struggling someone from the office will help you and talk to you in another language.

Partnership opportunity this leads to LCSD having value
added for recommendations to school boards. They wanted to
enhance public trust, protect taxpayers' funds, and strength
policies plus procedures. They knew this couldn’t be
completed now so they made step to have it be done for next
year. I think they were taking it seriously and asking valid
questions. There was teachers present and were wondering

Strong leadership Leadership is shown by students and teachers. One of the students held open the door and had math
questions and the only way to get in was to answer his questions. The teachers were all helpful and
informative. Teachers have goals for their students and respect towards others.
Clear school mission In short, the school mission is to make go down a path through academics, creative and expressive arts,
and athletics. This is met everyday when they have different enrichment and yes, it’s post on the
website; it’s the first thing you see.
Safe and orderly climate When you first walk into the school you must be buzzed in. A police officer was in the office watching
whoever comes in. Once you are inside to get into a classroom you must knock, and someone lets you
in. I door is always locked. In the lunchroom there are teachers in every corner or sitting on the stage
eating their lunch. There are cameras and gates surrounding the school.
Monitoring of student's progress Students have website that has a traffic light in the corner, so the teacher says get to a green light for
the day. Also, when they are doing an AR goal once students complete 6 books and write it on a paper
with their test score, they can get some candy.
High expectations When the school news started the principal said students need to try to complete their work because
it’s a short week. Teachers were saying students to students that even if they didn’t get a 3 on the FAST
testing, they still have time to study to get a better score and ask for help when it’s needed.
