AFP Social Media Use and Policy
2. Military and Civilian personnel may maintain personal Social Media
accounts and engage in online social activities, provided that:

a. Proper etiquette and a high standard of conduct and behavior


shall be adhered to, in any, and all online interaction or activity;

b. Any and all information posted or shared through personal


Social Media accounts does not violate any existing laws, rules,
or regulations;
c. Any and all information posted or shared through personal
Social Media accounts does not harm or put other people in
embarrassing, inconvenient, or humiliating positions;

d. Any and all information posted or shared through personal


Social Media accounts does not put the owner’s unit in a bad
light or otherwise embarrasses or compromises the AFP; and
e. Any and all opinion posted or shared through personal Social
Media accounts – especially partisan or political opinion- shall not
be misconstrued or presented as official releases or statements
from the AFP. Users may refer to and use the following
disclaimer: “The views expressed here are my own and does not
in any manner reflect the official policy or position of the AFP.’

5. No classified information or document shall be posted to or
shared with other individuals or groups through personal social
media accounts.
6. No information that may jeopardize military operations or
personnel – including but not limited to troop movements, unit
disposition, mission orders, Summary of Information (SOI), and
other such information – shall be liked, posted to or shared
through personal Social Media accounts.
7. No information that has not been officially released to the public
shall be posted to or shared through personal Social Media accounts.
This includes classified, unclassified, or sensitive information (such as
troop movement, forces size, communications, military equipment or
system details, etc.) This applies regardless of how the information was
obtained.
8. No internal AFP documents, whether original copy, photographs, or
other reproduction, shall be posted to or shared through personal
Social Media accounts. Examples include, but are not limited to, DFs,
Los, radio messages, e-mails, white papers, office orders, investigatory
information, manuals and proprietary information.
9. No false information, rumor, undue speculation, or otherwise
unverified or untruthful material regarding the AFP shall be liked,
posted or shared through personal Social Media accounts.
10.Photos, videos, and other information regarding office or unit
stakeholder engagement, recreational, morale and welfare, social
activities, and other activities not prohibited above should be kept
private and accessible only to trusted friend and family.
