Other things we should
consider in determining
the truth.
Determining the truth of any
statement, idea, or claim is
often presented in the form of
ARGUMENTS.
These kinds of arguments are
called FALLACIES.
1. Fallacy- an idea that many people believe to be true, but which is in fact false
because it is based on incorrect information or reasoning.
2. Fact - an idea that is true and can be
verified as factual or proven.
3. Opinion - an idea or statement which
only comes from someone's feelings and
cannot be proven.
4. Bias - it is an idea that leads to poor
judgment and poor decision-making
towards a certain thing for it could be a
positive one in favor of a certain person
and negative for another one.

the material.

personal feelings or opinions of the writer
in favor or against someone or something.
5. Check the reliability of the material.
6. The information in the material must
come from a trustworthy and credible
source.
