1. Supine Position:

Used for: Operation of eye,

face, chest, abdomen, breast,
lower limb, upper limb groin
pelvis.
2. Trendelenberg position:

Used for: Intrapelvic operations

3. Lateral positions:

Used for: Operation of Kidney, chest and hip

4. Lithotomy position:

Used for: Operations of genitalia, vagina, perineum

and anal region
5. Breast and axilla position:
Used for: Operation of breast and axilla.
6. Prone cranial position:
Used for: Cerebellar operations, high cervical
and laminectomy surgery
7. Supine hip position:
Used for: Nailing of femoral neck fracture, osteotomy
8. Jack knife position:
Used for: Lumber Laminectomy, rectal surgery
