ABSTRACT
The depletion of limited fuel reserves and high-power losses during energy conversion from moving vehicle parts are currently the two most pressing concerns facing the automobile, both of which diminish its efficiency. Researchers and
various vehicle businesses are currently working to reduce losses, wear, and fuel consumption in IC engines, and a functional understanding of the engine's numerous components is critical to this effort. In this sequence, tribology is a
crucial component to address because it encompasses all related issues such as lubrication, wear and surface finishing, bio-tribology, and the impact of temperature on engine performance. This research examines the competitiveness of
advanced methods for assessing tribological features in combustion engines. SRV, SRM, Cameron-Plint wear test, pin-on-disc test, and other tests are used in various studies to compare various components and their impact on the tribology
of a combustion engine. Because pistons are the most stressed component of the engine under normal operating conditions. This research concludes how the various lubricants, additives, fuels, temperatures, and surface structures of the
cylinder liner effect tribology between the piston and cylinder liner arrangement, in addition to all those tribal influences. This research analyses engine testing performed by several researchers in order to investigate different
