PNP Circular No. 2006-014
Basic Principles
No award shall be given to PNP personnel for the mere
performance of his usual duty.
Medals may be given only if the performance of the said usual
duty is exceptionally outstanding as compared to other
personnel with the same duty, or it is extra ordinary difficult
given the situation when and where it was performed.

What is Good Deed?
It refers to an act, or any activities connected in the performance of one’s duty or accomplishment of one’s
mandate which is conducted extraordinary accomplished with out of the box techniques beyond and above
normal duty, which includes a selfless act of doing something good for another involving compassion,
kindness, unconditional love, understanding, volunteerism, help, and consideration for the welfare and well-
being of others.
Guidelines in the recognition of PNP Good Deeds
PNP good deeds may comprise extra ordinary activities, out of the box solutions or beyond the call of police
duty performance. It may include any spontaneous/unplanned activities that capture the heart and mind, and
inspire the general public. However, regular police activities of offices/units or the performance of duties
done routinely shall not be included.

STEP ACTIVITY TIMELINE


a. Upon confirmation of the death of a PNP uniformed personnel, the
supervising Commander or Head of office where the incident
transpired shall submit Spot Report to the concerned PHQ/RHQ
1 through fastest means of communication (within 24 hours softcopy) 72 hours
b. Submit the Certificate of Legitimate Operation and Fact Sheet
c. The Head of office of the deceased PNP uniformed personnel shall
designate a Survivor Officer and an assistant
a. The mother unit shall convene the LOD Board
b. LOD Board shall conduct proceeding and render report
2 48 hours
c. Approval of the LOD Status report by the approving authority and
forward the same to RPRMD/Admin Office for proper disposition
120 hours
