Defining the Indigenous

Still made by something
The Indigenous Knowledge System
• indigenous knowledge refers to the
understandings, skills and philosophies
developed by societies with long histories of
interaction with their natural surroundings. For
rural and indigenous peoples, local knowledge
informs decision-making about fundamental
aspects of day-to-day life.

Conclusion
Whilst Indigenous science may not sound much
interesting at first, it does however provide great
insight when it comes to studying our local
phenomenon, individuals, geographical locations,
cultures, and history. It can even be argued that
indigenous science is comparable to historiography
with the only difference being that indigenous
science not only strive to discover the historical
truth but also preserve what has transpired and
what still exist to this day.
