• Compute for the missing terms in a given percentage
statement;
• Analyze and solve problems involving application of
Base, Rate and Percentage in real life situations.

Remember:
• Rate has always % sign

• If Rate is less than 100%, Base > Percentage


• If Rate is equal to 100%, Base = Percentage
• If Rate is greater than 100%, Base < Percentage
Example 1. What is 20% of 70?
To find for Percentage: P = R x B Formula #1
Given: R = 20%
B = 70
Unknown: P
Solution:
P = 0.20 x 70
P= 14 Answer
#2. How much is 30% of P920.00?
Given: R = 30%
B = 920
Unknown: P
Solution:
P=RxB
= 0.30 x 920
P = P276.00 Answer
#3. Joan was given a 40% discount when she
bought a bag which regularly sells P1200.
a. How much was the discount?
Solution:
Discount = 0.4 x 1200 = P480.00
b. How many % wads the amount paid?
Solution:
% of the amount paid = 100% - 40% = 60%
c. How much did she pay for the bag?
Amount Paid = 0.6 x 1200 = P720.00
